Seatour’s boats

Seatours owns and runs two boats on Breidafjordur. Below you can find information about them.

Ferry Baldur

Ferry Baldur crosses Breidafjordur Bay daily between Stykkisholmuron the Snaefellsnes peninsula and Brjanslaekur in the north, with a stopover at Flatey Island. A ferry ride considerably shortens the route between the south and mid-west of the country and the West Fjords region. It also gives you the opportunity to experience a floating restaurant.  Plese see the schedule here

Easy access – Ferry Baldur

Ferry Baldur operates all year round and during the summer there are 2 trips every day. You can therefore pop over to Flatey for a few hours, a whole day or relax and enjoy spending the night. If you are taking your car with Ferry Baldur across Breidafjordur Bay but want to stop in Flatey … this is no problem! We just send your car across the bay while you relax on Flatey, and it will be waiting for you on the other side when you are ready to leave this wonderful island.

Accommodation in Flatey Island

Despite to its tiny size, Flatey island offers a good range of accommodation:

  • Læknishús, tel: 438 1476. Farm accommodation.
  • Krákuvör, tel: 4381451. Farm accommodation and campsite.

Souvenir Shop
Great variety and good prices

In addition to offering various forms of recreation, Seatours Ltd. also operates an excellent souvenir and gift shop at its service centre on the harbour site. The aim is to offer visitors a wide variety of quality goods such as books, glass art, postcards, clothing from 66° North, ZoOn International (Icelandic desgin) and Glofi (Varma), Icelandic wool articles, CDs, films, local handcrafts and a range of other items. Take some time to have a look at our assortment. During the summer we offer snacks, sushi-to-go, soup of the day, slices of cake and waffles at our harbour café. Enjoy the view over the harbour with a good cup of coffee.
