Selárdalur - Swimming Pool

The swimming pool was build in Summer, 1949 by members of Einherja, a young men’s group in Vopnafjörður. They worked mostly as volunteers and it was opened in Summer, 1950. Repairs and improvements have been made and the pool is in good condition, and the surrounding area has always been well-kept. Until 1975 swimming lessons were held for two weeks with the students living in the poolhouse and it must have been quite a jolly time during the lessons.

Today swimming lessons are held here in the fall and spring.

Opening time Selárdalur Swimming pool:

Summer:
Summer time : June 01- August 31. 

( Open from am.10:00 – pm 22:00 in July )

Weekday Monday – Friday: pm. 12:00 – pm. 22:00.
On weekends Saturday – Sunday: pm. 12:00 – pm. 22:00

Winter:
Winter time (01 sept. – May 31)

Tuesday – Friday: pm. 14:00 – pm. 18:00. ( Closed : Mondays )
Saturday – Sundays: pm. 12:00 – pm. 16:00.
