Hestheimar – Horse farm and guesthouse is a family run property by Lea Helga Ólafsdóttir and Marteinn Hjaltested, they live at Hestheimar with their three children: Ísak Freyr, Sunneva Eik and Hákon Snær. Marteinn is a member of FT, which is an association of licenced trainers of the Icelandic horse. Lea Helga is a teacher. There are a lot of animals here.

Hestheimar is located 3 km. from the Iceland’s Ring Road, only 50 minute drive away from Reykjavik and 20 minutes from Selfoss. In Hestheimar you can enjoy views of the Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes. Enjoy the fresh air or if you are lucky, the northen lights in the 2 outdoor hot tubs.
Traditional Icelandic restaurant and homemade bread and cakes are available in the restaurant.
At Hestheimar, we provide either a private or shared bathrooms. Some include kitchen facilities and a terrace. Views of the Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull Glaciers can be seen from some rooms. It also offers a communal living room with books and toys, BBQ facilities and a gift shop selling local crafts. WiFi is free throughout the premises.
