The Djúpavík Hotel is open the whole year-round. We attach great importance to maintaining the rural atmosphere of the buildings and our guests are enchanted by the lovingly furnished accommodation. The building that is now the hotel was constructed in the 1930s for the women who worked in the herring factory. It was extensively renovated in 1985 and the first visitors booked in during in the summer of that year.
You will find a range of activities within easy reach of the hotel. You can take an informative tour of the herring factory, or go for an invigorating walk to the top of the nearby waterfall, or take a relaxing dip in a geothermal heated outdoor swimming pool. Our things to do page has details. Environmental concerns are a priority for Eva and Ási, the proprietors of the hotel. You can chat with them over a cup of coffee about their ideas and beliefs concerning the countryside.
